Yeah, I know.  That's why I, for one, am going to buy slackware 8 from their
online store instead of downloading it from sourceforge or elsewhere.  My two
cents (or rather, my $39.95) in their support, so to speak.

There's some confusion here :)  Slack has been maintaining a 7.1 tree and a
slackware-current tree for quite some time (and slackware-current has become
slackware 8).  

There's even this tool called autoslack by Nikhil Shankar of ilughyd (I've
mirrored it at http://www.hserus.net/linuxing.html ...) to track
slackware-current - based on another script called autoslack. 

Thing is, the new slackware 8 distro gives you a choice between 2.2.19 and
2.4.5 - both of which are in the same CD set.  Not like Debian, say ...
