Like Kingsly had pointed out - journaled filesystems are _not_ meant for protecting data in case of power outages. The chances of losing data are the same with or without a journaled filesystem. The only diff would be that you can avoid a very long fsck if a journaled FS is used. You won't believe the number of people who keep asking this question on the XFS mailing list - "I switched off the power during heavy disk activity and now i lost some data. XFS sucks!". Read the FAQ: Q: Why do I see binary NULLS in some files after recovery when I unplugged the power? http://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/faq.html#nulls -- Emperor Palpatine: Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design. _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
