Hey Guys!! I've seen GAIM and I've seen everybuddy. Although they have their strong points (multiple protocols), I'd advise all of you to have a look at kmerlin (this was earlier called kmsn).
kmerlin.sourceforge.net Its a great client for msn and even shows an alert near kicker as your friends go online and offline!
