I have managed to lockout my modem (under PCQL7.1) and am unable to unlock
it. I wanted to use Pine, and so, wanted to connect to the internet from
console, for which I tried wvdial. I was able to log on ( message given was
something like : ppp services started on 12th feb 2002 at 10:00:00 hrs) but
did not get to the command prompt. I did not know how to log out, so tried
cntrl-c, which assured me : trying to exit gracefully. The telephone
connection was cut-off, but the modem got locked. Now, whenever I try to
connect to internet (either from console or under X -RP3), I get a message :
cannot open /dev/ttyS0 : Device or resource busy. I need some guidance to -
1. unlock mu modem ( it is an external 56kbps rockwell modem)
2. how to disconnect from wvdial (I have tried ./pppd ttyS0 disconnect,
without success)
3.how to get to start pine after logging on through wvdial.
I am forced to use windoze to send this message.
Thanks in advance,
K.Ghosh.
