Hi All,

I have Debian woody 3.0 r2 installed. I am using the
GNOME desktop which comes with this distribution. And
I want to upgrade it to GNOME 2.6 Though I have the
sources for it, but it is really a pain to compile all
the stuff and it is time consuming also.
Can someone tell me from where can I get the debia
package of GNOME 2.6.

I looked at the testing, it has GNOME 2.4 and the
unstable has GNOME 2.6. Is it OK to use the
testing/unstable package with stable debian. (I can't
afford to do a apt-get dist upgrade on a dialup, too
costly). If yes then what entries should I have in
/etc/apt/sources.list file so that I can upgrade to
GNOME 2.4 or GNOME 2.6. Also after updating the
sources.list file to have the testing and unstable
entries if i just give the command as -
apt-get upgrade gnome
will it work, or still I have to upgrade all the
individual libraries.

Regards.
