Not many USB ADSL modems work with Linux. So normal advise is to ask
only for ethernet modem from provider. That said it can still be
possible to go further but you need to find out model and all possible
details of this USB modem. (See the back/underside panel)

Do not worry we all are noob's helping each other. Look at the site
http://eciadsl.flashtux.org there you can see if your particular modem
works with the method suggested. Personally I was given a USB modem by
Bharti Airtel which did not work (as per site also) but they were nice
enough to change it to ethernet modem on my persistent follow up.

And this has nothing to do with Triban or any other ADSL service provider.

And finally we would appreciate if you can do inline/bottom posting
and snip of irrelevant portions. Top posting is sign of laziness.
