Nothing other than irattach (which you should only run once either from
/etc/irda/drivers, or once from the command line. So either comment it out 
or don't start irattach before irmanager, should be talking to /dev/ttyS1.
Either pilot-xfer does all the irda stuff itself in which case you don't
need Dag's code, or pilot-xfer needs an IrDA serial port such as /dev/irnine.
Pointing it at /dev/ttyS1 will just trash the IrDA interface. If you tell me
where pilot-xfer comes from I will tell you what to do.
