Success!!!!!!!
after reading the IROBEX section of the IR-HOWTO i thought maybe the
Ir-Sync program on the Pilot should be replaced with the new Ir-Link
program from IS/Complete. while reading the instructions for installing
the app, i saw that one of the requirements was to update the Palm IR
using the 3com update. once i did this Ir-sync began working,
btw - for some reason Ir-link kept crashing and causing a soft-reset on
the PalmIII so once i had IR-Sync working, I deleted it.
now how to add appropriate lines to conf.modules so the IR modules load
automagically..........
