Thanks, that helped with the error messages.
But nevertheless I still can't connect to my SH888. Here's my ppp-up script:
localip=0.0.0.0
remoteip=
device=/dev/ircomm0
pppflags="115200 modem debug defaultroute"
/usr/sbin/pppd lock connect \
'/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/ppp.chat' \
$device $pppflags $localip:$remoteip
and here's my ppp.chat (copied from a posting to this mailing list):
TIMEOUT 5
ABORT "NO CARRIER"
ABORT BUSY
ABORT "NO DIALTONE"
ABORT ERROR
"" \d\d\d\d\dATZE0
OK ATD123000
CONNECT \d\c
ogin:--ogin: \q<login>
word: <passwd>
[The phone number is correct, and I don't need a login and password.]
Finally, my /var/log/messages:
pppd[317]: pppd 2.3.5 started by root, uid 0
kernel: ircomm_param_port_type(), port type=1
chat[318]: timeout set to 5 seconds
chat[318]: abort on (NO CARRIER)
chat[318]: abort on (BUSY)
chat[318]: abort on (NO DIALTONE)
chat[318]: abort on (ERROR)
chat[318]: send (\d\d\d\d\dATZE0^M)
chat[318]: alarm
pppd[317]: Connect script failed
chat[318]: -- write timed out
chat[318]: Failed
pppd[317]: Exit.
Infrared is enabled on my SH888, and it works with Windows 98.
Again, any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Edi.
