Oh, well. My mistake.

Ummm, sorry about that...

The irdadump log from a successful (as always) Psion Series5 <-> Nokia
8810 connection could maybe help shift your mode? :-)

As you know, I don't understand much of what's going on. But I noted
one major difference: The Psion sends complete commands like ATD123456
in a single package while Linux-IrDA splits it and sends A,T,D,1,2,3,4,
5,6 in separate packages. As you can see from the timings, this not an
interactive session but from a chatscript. The commands are still split
up in single character packages, even if it completes in just a few ms.

This made me think: Maybe it's just a problem with package assembly in
the 8810? If so, is there any way to make Linux-IrDA behave like the
Psion does? I have no problem believing that this is caused by a bug in
the phone, but other IrDA-stacks are obviously able to avoid it...
(he said, pushing for IrCOMM mode :-)

You can find the Psion<->8810 and Linux<->8810 dumps at
http://www.mork.no/~bjorn/s5-8810.txt
http://www.mork.no/~bjorn/linux-8810.txt

The Linux<->8810 dump is the same that I sent you previously (from
kernel-2.2.12 with the 2.2.12-irda3-patch).
