Do you have a link to the spec of the SIO? I looked at your web-page, but
couldn't find it. But I found out that your 6801 supports SIR and the 6802
supports SIR, MIR, and FIR. 

I would be very surprised if you produced a SIO chip today which has CIR
but not SIR or FIR. It's really so cheap to add support for all modes. But
is it possible to have a peek at the docs? PDF, PS or URL would be just
fine.
