In my case (Toshiba 420CDT, SIR, 2.2.18, Visor), I've found that 9600 baud works less well than 57600. I don't know why. Also, if anybody is saving this stuff for the FAQ (which does need to be updated BADLY), note that for the Visor (PalmOS 3.1) and some other older models, HotSync won't use IR unless you download and install some IR extensions: Get the irenhanc package from Palm -- this makes the IR port programmable through the serial manager, so any app that uses serial will automatically use IR instead (selectable in Prefs). http://www.palm.com/support/downloads/irenhanc.html (you may only need two of the four files -- see the readme in BeamSync) Then install BeamSync, which enables IR HotSyncing: http://www.tt.rim.or.jp/~tatsushi/bsync10b2.zip Dr. Tom Holroyd "I am, as I said, inspired by the biological phenomena in which chemical forces are used in repetitious fashion to produce all kinds of weird effects (one of which is the author)." -- Richard Feynman, _There's Plenty of Room at the Bottom_ _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
