Hi,

I've recently switched from openSuSe10.1, kernel 2.6.16 to
openSuSe10.2, kernel 2.6.18.

Previously, I could execute karma_helper (-b -u -l -r) as a
regular user in order to bind/unbind the RK USB interface from
the storage driver (so I diden't have to physically plug/unplug
the USB cable to bring the RK to normal operation). Now only
root can do that; as a regular user I get:

  ./karma_helper -b
  error: unable to open /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb-storage/bind
  ./karma_helper -l
  user.c: Operation not permitted
  [etc...]

Both in now and in the previous setting the (unmodifiable)
permissions of /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb-storage/{bind,unbind} are
identical (--w-------).

Is the new behaviour supposed to be normal?

Best,
EV.
