In the former set of sites, you're going to want to stuff the RSB too. The patch I sent out this morning adds the infrastructure you want for that; we'll just want to shift it from being dependent on RETPOLINE (both CONFIG_RETPOLINE and X86_FEATURE_RETPOLINE).
