You can (largely) replace:
        if (...) {
                xxx;
                yyy;
        }
        zzz;
With
        if (...)
                xxx,
                yyy;
        zzz;

Saves a vertical line....
You may need to replace some 'if' by ?: to avoid the terminating ;
