Yeah, I saw the pictures of them on cobalt's site. I'll be doing
remote admin, so the UI isn't important. I prefer the command
line, and perhaps linuxconf. Other than that, I do it all by
hand.

Well that is fine by me. I always compile things personally
anyways. I don't even mind if I have to muck with a bit of
source and patches, so long as I can use SRPMS.

Great. What version of RedHat is it based on? I've used 4.2,
all the 5.x releases and now 6.0 as well. My preference for a
remote machine like that (it's over 4000km away), is a 5.x
release that is fairly stable if possible.

Hmm. Is it safe to upgrade the kernels on these machines,
without having a remote "hardware-reset" switch? I know x86
kernels usually boot no problem, but if I'm not mistaken, some
versions of the kernel just will not boot at all on other
architectures. I'm primarily concerned with having an updated
kernel for the utmost of security.
Any suggestions of Linux-MIPS reading material on the web or
other URL's pertaining to linux on MIPS?
Thanks for your reply!
Take care,
