I've managed to just recently install RH5.2 on a Thinkpad with a Megahertz
3288 combo card (28.8 Modem/10bT Ethernet) and both halves work perfecly.
While I haven't had personal experience with any other models, I've heard
that most Megahertz (now 3com) pc card modems work fine with linux.
ps: Thanks to everyone who helped me get my system up and running
properly. It turned out that the problem that I had with installing off
the hard drive was that it was on a dos partition and not a linux
partition (even though the RH manual says that it doesn't matter).
