I am currently doing the same thing.
First I would not use your file server as a gateway to the net, set up a
firewall in between the file server and your ISP.
We are letting our ISP house our web page and forward the mail to the mail
server I am setting up (you need 2 IP no. to do it this way.).  Have fun!!!!
