See the man page on smb.conf.  This line says 
bind to the interface configured for IP address
192.168.0.1 and using a netmask of 24 bits.

Samba by default configured to the first 
available interface.  If you have multiple network 
interfaces, you need to use the 'interfaces' 
parameter to get smbd/nmbd to bind to additional eth#'s

Not sure what you mean by "no subnet".
