HI people
Your getting the wrong end of the stick.
I used to have a Linux server in the states, I used to telnet this or
FTP it and get straight into the root of my HTML directory. Obviously my
ISP set this up.
Now I have my own server, I would like to be able to telnet straight to
my HTML directory.
I know how to use telnet, I install NT, SBS and routers for a living and
I could telnet any of 25 routers I have out there from my Win 98
computer right now.
So the problem is not that I have a problem with telnet or don`t know
what it is but when I telnet the Linux box....up it pops and says
username........passsword.
I enter this and it says incorrect.
So the question is:
If hypothetically you hosted a web site for me on your Linux box, and I
said I wanted telnet access to my "HTML" and "cgi-bin"....how would you
set this up on the Linux box?
I hope that is clearer
