Nope. sendmail is one of a number of different programs that you can choose
to "do" email; more specifically, to provide email services you need at least
an MTA (mail transport agent) of some sort. sendmail is one such program,
exim is another. MTAs deal with message delivery and routing between hosts;
most will also have a mechanism for delivering to local users' mailboxes.

Assuming the Linux box will have local users, you'll also need something that
they can use to access their mail boxes. People who login in the box directly
can use their favourite mail client to access the mailbox file
(/var/spool/mail/<user>, normally); people on other machines will probably
want to use POP3 or IMAP4, so you'll need to install / setup servers for those.
