Quite confusing question : how can you tell that your kernel doesn't
support iso9660 if you can't boot it ???

Maybe it's 'cause of that there were no replies before...

Anyway, here is my active loadlin command. Customize to meet your needs
:
LOADLIN c:\loadlin\vmlinuz root=/dev/hdc1 ro
