both are easy.  if the systems will rarely if ever change, it's likely to
take less time to edit your rc.inet file and set the ip/route than it
would be to acquire/install/configure dhcp on each client and on the
server.

if they are going to change even moderately, by all means toss in dhcp. 
both ways require just a short pinch of work.
