First off, it's not the wisest thing in the world to email and surf
while logged on as root.
Second, you're getting the root put on your return address because
that's your login (you're logged on as root). If you create a user named
ptay1, then any messages sent from that account will be listed as from
ptay1.
Make sure all of your PPP configuration files are set correctly. Get the
Connecting-to-ISP-HOWTO (should be in /usr/doc/HOWTO).
