Hey! Did you hear what greyn was saying on Mar 28 ?

g> I am currently running Slackware 3.6 on an Nec P75. I am trying to set up
g> my printer and I have read the howto's and man pages. My problem is
g> that during bootup, I get the message:
g>
g> lp: Driver configured but no interfaces found.

I had this exact same problem just the other week. Are you
loading the parallel printer as a module? And do you get the message:
can't find module parport_lowlevel ? Then add these lines to
/etc/conf.modules
                alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
                options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=7
This will make your printer /dev/lp0. For setting your printer up look
for a utility called apsfilter. Ftp it from...
ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/Printing

g> Also,
g> Can someone tell me what a .lsm file is?

Its a comment or description file. It contains a description of
the archive file of the same name (eg aps-491.tgz = archive, aps-491.lsm =
description of aps-491.tgz).
