        thats whats known as vitual screen. Edit your XF86Config file in 
/etc/X11 and make sure your virtual screen size is the same as your
Mode, or just comment out the lines that say Virtual that should fix it.

        you insert your cd in the cdrom drive be root and type mount
/mnt/cdrom.
