64 phys, pc 100 (but running @ 66, obviously -- inherited from another
machine)

i was watching ns w/ mem usage... it was expanding to about 50 megs or so
from time to time, but it never went more than a meg or two into swap

i guess i shud have waited a bit longer than i did... but there was no hd
activity, at all... nor was there anything to indicate that anything was
'moving'...

one thing that might be somewhat noteworthy is that it took out the net
daemons... when i restarted, and they couldn't load,.. that's when i
figured it was time to scrap it and start over... (after backing up /home/
and /etc/ that is)
