As I have already purged the logs, I am waiting for the machine to hang
again. Once it does, I will post the logs. I didn't see anything significant
in the logs but I could be mistaken.

No reaction. Nothing on the keyboard creates any effect.

Nope. Whatever telnet/ftp sessions die as well.

> Are there NFS clients connected.???
No.
> I..ve lost the origanal mail, what kernel version was it again please.?
There are two kernels. One is version 2.2.14-5.0 and another is the smp
patched version, 2.2.14-5.0smp. Its running RedHat 6.2. I usually use the
smp kernel rather than single processor kernel. The system hangs with the
smp kernel, and as far as I know - the single processor kernel has never
hung (but that could be due to the fact that I hardly run with the single
processor kernel). I think that the mobo is faulty and thus hanging the smp
kernel.
Many of you have suggested hardware problems. Over the course of the week, I
will be running diagnostics on the hardware and also see whether NT is
affected. To those who replied, I appreciate your help :)
