Ray has explained a few things, however if your "machine" does not see the
drive then you have either, Not set the BIOS correctly, most modern BIOS'es
are set to "auto" so that should not be the problem, or the jumper settings
are in corret on the drives themselfs.

Ray made the point of master and slave and the point of primary and
secondary interface, however i have used a system with only a slave cdrom
on ide1 (secondary interface).
