Hmm, I queried that statement too.

Why does this mean that /dev/sda2 is not / ?

As I understand it, the default RH/Fedora install is two partitions: a
small /boot, and the rest an LVM PV assigned to a VG (VolGroup00) with
root on an LV inside VolGroup00 ?
