3970, huh? Unless you got the part number wrong, I would be skeptical.
The closest part number I can find in adaptec's product listing is the
AHA-3950U2, which is 2x u2w, but is not a RAID controller. The only
Adaptec u2w RAID controllers they list are the AAA-131U2
(single-channel), AAA-133U2 (triple-channel), ARO-1130U2 (RAIDport III)
and AAC-364 (quad-channel high-performance). I posted a question about
those products to this list yesterday. So far it appears that there is
no Linux support for these controllers, and Adaptec only lists them as
supporting WinNT and Netware OSs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
