ok, here's a somewhat different scenario I'm considering...

I have a single machine with RedHat 6.0 (plus a fair number
of updates...) that is currently set up to dual-boot NT
for those increasingly rare occasions when I need to actually
wander into the M$ slough. I'm considering setting up
VMWare so that I can just boot NT in a window, but want
to set it up so that VMWare can use the existing partition,
so that I can still dual boot if absolutely necessary. I
know VMWare is capable of this, and here's where it gets
interesting...

I want to mirror the NT partition when I'm running Linux.
Obviously, the mirror will be broken when I boot under NT,
but I want to set up rc scripts to basically sync up another
partition and keep it synced while Linux is running. I'm
guessing that this is one instance where I will want to
not have a persistent superblock, and I probably don't
want to set up autodetection for this partition (since that
involves changing the partition tag, which NT will most
assuredly have conniptions over), but I'm wondering:

        1) first off, can this even really be done
with the current state of the RAID tools?
        2) how do I set up a script to start up a mirror
of an existing partition without destroying
           the data in it?
        3) are there any other caveats/gotchas/etc.
heading my way if I decide to actually
           undertake this scenario?
