You seem to have changed things around a bit. When you first asked for help you
were building the mirror on /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1. Now you're building it on
/dev/hdb1 and /dev/hdc1. This problem may be caused by an error in your new
configuration. We could do with knowing what your setup is (raidtab, fstab,
mdstat, output of df and dmesg etc.) and what error messages you get when the
kernel panics.

Not for many other people, there isn't. So either you have discovered a bug
(unlikely) or there is a problem with your setup. It may well be nothing to do
with RAID if the kernel panics when trying to mount a non-RAID partition.

You can do this. But you will lose many useful features. It would be worth
persevering a little longer with raidtools-0.90.
