I would verify this against the HP documentation. Unfortunately, it appears
that HP has removed general public access to all of their technical
documentation except for some of the Unix products. At least for tape drives
it appears that they grant access only to their OEM partners (at least, an
engineer here placed a login and password on my desk along with a restricted
URL to said docs when he heard me going "ARGH!"). I would presume that the
same is true for technical documentation for their HP optical changers.

To say that I find this to be disgusting behavior is an understatement. One
reason I like working with Exabyte equipment is because the technical
documention for all of their recent-vintage equipment is online. I've been
mostly working out of the manual for the Exabyte 220 simply because it's more
easily comprehended than the actual T-10 SMC spec,
and was doing so long before I had an actual Exabyte 220 sitting on my desk to
play with (hmm, did I mention that my desk now has an appreciable sag to it?
:-).

Note that all opinions expressed in this message are my own personal opinions,
do not represent the opinions of Enhanced Software Technologies Inc. (who
would say "are you kidding?!" if you asked them if I speak for them), yada
yada so on and so forth. EST especially disclaims my statements here because
HP and EST are in a partnership deal, So let me state that this is DEFINITELY
my own personal opinion, and does not have anything to do with EST policies or
opinions.
