I'm using an identical machine. I haven't noticed anything
unusual. With earlier versions of the adaptec driver, sometimes the
root fs would fail to be mounted when booting up. I run the machine
24/7 so I don't boot much, but it booted fine after the kernel
install.
If you want to contact me privately we can compare stats, and try and
solve the problem that way. Very nice to find someone with the same
setup. Would have been nice when I was having all those sound card
woes.
