Also, like any RISC box the Alpha needs to be fed at a faster
rate than an Intel/CISC CPU. So if you have an Alpha on a cheap
motherboard, you are not likely to get much benefit.
In fact, the same can be said of newer Intel systems and SMP Intel
machines with cheap motherboards.
