Hi All,
I received a call from Dirk Meyer, AMD, and he verbally filled me in on
the following regarding K-7 SMP:
1) AMD has extensive cross licensing agreements with Intel, and will
insure that their SMP will conform to the standard 1.4 spec. What we
see out of the BIOS (tables) should be the same as per Intel.
2) All APIC addresses, etc. will be identical to Intel (they are modeled
after the Pentium II Deschute).
3) I/O APIC should be similar/same as current MB's.
AMD has tested the K7 on Linux as a matter of practice, but has not yet
tested the K7 on SMP. Since I have made contact with AMD, I will
volunteer to test the K7 SMP as soon as it can be made available to me.

FOLLOW UP NOTE TO AL COX: I sent the code which would "break" the early
K6's to Dirk and he stated that he will follow up with the proper folks
at AMD to get us an answer.
Cheers,
Lyle
