On a quick tangent--and I do believe this is old news, but seems
particularly relevant--the Linux-Mandrake RedHat-based distro has SMP
kernels in RPM format.  2.2.3-ac4, I believe.  Works well over here, and
one should be able to just plug these into any recent RedHat installation.

Now, as to whether or not Dell should plug these in when RedHat itself
doesn't build/support SMP RPMs..  --or even if they can, I don't know the
details of Dell/RedHat's agreement.
