Hi all,
My mouse is acting funny under Linux SMP. I'll try to describe the
details as best I can.

I have an Abit BP6 with 2 celeron 366s running at 366. NO
OVERCLOCKING. I also have a TNT2 (Diamond Viper 770). The system is
triple booting Win98, WinNT 200 RC2, and a stock Red Hat 6.1 install.
Win98 and Win2000 are running perfectly, with Win200 using the SMP
correctly. This basically rules out a hardware problem. The problem is
as follows:
I have my inittab set to go right into gdm (boot right into X). This
works correctly. However, whenever I move the mouse, it jumps all over
the screen, clicking randomly. The keyboard also locks up, but I can
get to a virtual console with ctrl-alt-FX. If I *don't* move the mouse,
the keyboard works fine.

Unfortunately, I have a doubt that this is caused by SMP. I booted off
the boot disk that Red Hat's install creates, and it loaded Linux off of
/dev/hda6 as it promised. However, the mouse suffers from the same
problems. When I cat /proc/cpuinfo after booting from the disk, it
shows only one processor.

So what's causing the problem?

Oh I almost forgot! During the Red Hat install, It allows you to test
the X settings. It correctly identifies the TNT2. But most
interestingly, IT WORKS CORRECTLY. The "test settings" has a perfectly
working mouse.

Thanks for any help you offer,
Mordy
