An interesting question: A prof in the math department just bought one of these
guys based on our good experience with the dell quad xeons. however, as is
usually the case, he added a new wrinkle to the equation. He also bought a
Voodoo3 3000 PCI video card. With this card plugged into pci slot 1, the
machine starts to boot, but hangs. It would appear that there is some sort
of conflict between the onboard video and this card, but I don't see any way
to disable the on-board video card.
has anyone successfully gotten a SMP box to boot with an add-in PCI video
card on top of the normal video?? Or does anyone have a suggestion to try
to get him up and running in the world of SMP?
