I understand this issue because I wasted a good chunk of my
life resolving problems of stupid customers in Solaris.
There we would spend a lot of effort to identify what
patchlevel exactly they were running.

Let us keep versions, if they are really needed, but remove
authors and miscalleneous printouts, such as registrations.

"some" people and "their" names? _I_ do not wish to see
that garbage.
