There's no question that the Plextor firmware is wrong. The sg driver is, as far as I know, doing what it is designed to. Maybe that design isn't the best, but it is adequate and doesn't need to be changed. Joerg Schilling claims that the usb-storage driver needs to be changed. We'll thresh that out in further discussion. Until any of the other changes are made, it is possible to alter cdrecord-ProDVD to make it work under the current circumstances. (Depending on what happens, it may turn out some alterations will be necessary regardless.) The Plextor error, while annoying, will not prevent correct operation if the program is prepared to deal with it. > > Below, I ran the test you suggested. > > Thanks, > Tom > With dinfo[32+2] > =============== > [EMAIL PROTECTED] dvd+rw-tools-5.16.4.8.5]# ./test3 /dev/scd0 > 00 22 00 01 01 01 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 23 05 40 > 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 > =============== Right. Since the last byte is 0, the fact that the data is 2 bytes shorter than advertised won't really matter. The program would not have examined those missing 2 bytes anyway.
