Have you considered that that NFS activity could be a red herring?  The
USB keyboard problem may be completely separate from the network and 
filesystem I/O.

Please also use the usbmon debugging facility (see the instructions in 
Documentation/usb/usbmon.txt) and turn on CONFIG_USB_DEBUG.
