The sniffers for Windows don't show you what's actually going down (or up) the wire; they only show what the OS _thinks_ is going down the wire. The equivalent facility in Linux is part of the kernel. It's called usbmon and the instructions are in the kernel source file Documentation/usb/usbmon.txt.
