Hey Tim,

Here's what I've been able to determine.  Basically the MD-DG2 requires 
digital audio extraction.  The CD players in Linux do not use this.  So the 
only way to work around it is to use something like grip to extract the audio 
from a CD (usually to a file - .ogg .wav .mp3 - depending upon what  you want 
and what your media players support).  Then you use a media player - xmms, 
noatun (K media player), etc. - to playback the audio file.  If you have USB 
(hotplug) supported and working, the device should be detected properly - at 
least it did on RedHat 7.2.  See the FAQ's, mailing list archives, etc. if 
you have another sound device (e.g. sound card) in order to set the MD-DG2 as 
the default audio device.  Depending upon your GUI you may have to read their 
documentation about audio device setup (note: KDE detects the device just 
fine w/o other sound devices).  If theres anything else I may be able to 
answer just let me know.
