I just tried plugging the hard drive into a USB1 port and it worked just fine. It mounted as a scsi disk and I could browse with no problem. It's formatted NTFS, and I don't have NTFS write turned on in my kernel config, so I was only able to test reading.
So it looks like it's definitely the PCMCIA USB2 card. It's just dead in the water. I tried a USB1 device on it and still nothing. Anybody out there have any ideas of things I could try, logs I should examine, anything??? Would a 2.5 kernel help?
