Hello,

We tried to plug our brand new external disc, Freecom
classic 160 GB, in our Red Hat 2.4.27 Linux kernel,
but it doesn't work at all. We installed a VIA pci-usb
card, in order to try the USB 2.0 interface, but with
the same result.

Is there anyone who could help us with this problem?

Thank's in advance!

Rafael.

I have a client with a
FRE-23237 FREECOM CLASSIC - 250GB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE
and Redhat9 (kernel 2.4.30.9) reports "kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x7ab/0xfccd) is not claimed by any active driver. "
Is that the same "vend/prod" as yours?

Do keep in touch and let me know if you find a solution.

Have fun,
Mike
