What I meant was that the mouse needs to be "warmed up" before 
initialization.  Even when you left it plugged in for 20 minutes, it was 
still initialized at boot time.

Here's another thing to check.  Go through your BIOS setup and see if USB 
Legacy support is turned on.  If it is, there's a good chance that turning 
it off will help.
