You need to add generic SCSI support, it's in the SCSI Support
configuration, you might also want to turn on SCSI disk support.

Then, after a reboot, you should see something about a disk being detected
on sda4 (or similar) right after:

scsi0 : SCSI host adaptor emulation for IDE ATAPI devices
scsi : 1 host.
scsi : detected total.
