Yes. I wonder whether anyone has suggested simply migrating the
initscripts
by creating a mirror set that points to /devfs instead of /dev. Until
the
new set was working and well-tested, a boot option could be used to
select
which initscript set would be used. Then, once everyone is happy with
the
new initscripts, we could either simply abandon the old set or do a
global
replace in the initscripts of /devfs for /dev and simultaneously change
the
mountpoint to /dev.
